Every three months at Ketelhuis, Grenzeloos Geluid organizes an event featuring a special radio project.
Coming February 3rd it will be a special preview of the Internet Project Media Me, you’re in my story, a radio play and film by Bert Kommerij (NTR / Media Fund 2011). Afterwards Kommerij will be interviewed.
After Flick Radio (2007), a radio play and film about a man who gets lost in photo community Flickr, radio playwright Bert Kommerij returns with a new special project: Media Me, you’re in my story.
Media Me tells the story of the sleepless young Andy having a conversation with his computer, Machine.
Machine leads him around a stream of pictures and videos on Flickr. Again and again a silent old street photographer appears. Just like in Greek tragedy a choir provides a singing commentary. Who is this man and what is his role in the digital revolution?
Kommerij: “Internet redefines human relationships. That fascinates me.”
Media Me is at the same time a radio play, a film and a photo group on Flickr with about 600 people contributing.
Kommerij: “Social media are often used as a conduit. To me they are the starting point for a developing story. ”
During this one-time preview, the entire cast and crew will be present: Barbara Okma (composition), Quatre bouches (vocal quartet), Arno Peeters (sound design), Niels Dekker (video edit), Akbar Simonse, Marco Habanero, Bonnie Williams, Michael Krass, Frank Sheppard and more.

Grenzeloos Geluid in het Ketelhuis donderdag 3 februari om 19.30 uur.
Grenzeloos Geluid organiseert elke drie maanden een luisteravond waar een bijzonder radioproject wordt vertoond. Deze keer is dat een speciale preview van het internetproject Media Me, you’re in my story; een hoorspel en film ineen van Bert Kommerij (NTR/Mediafonds 2011). Na afloop wordt Kommerij geïnterviewd.
Na Flick Radio (2007), een hoorspel en film over een man die verdwaalt in fotocommunity Flickr, komt hoorspelmaker Bert Kommerij nu met een nieuw bijzonder project: Media Me, you’re in my story.
Media Me vertelt het verhaal van de slapeloze jongeman Andy die een gesprek voert met zijn computer, Machine.
Machine leidt hem rond in een stroom foto’s en filmpjes op Flickr. Steeds weer duikt daarin een zwijgende oude straatfotograaf op. Als in een Griekse tragedie levert een koor zingend commentaar. Wie is deze man en wat is zijn rol in de digitale revolutie?
Kommerij: ‘Internet herdefinieert menselijke relaties, dat fascineert me.’
Media Me is een hoorspel, een film en een fotocommunity op Flickr ineen. Aan dit project werkten zo’n 600 mensen op Flickr mee.
Kommerij: ‘Social media worden vaak gebruikt als doorgeefluik. Voor mij zijn ze het startpunt voor het ontwikkelen van een verhaal.’

Laatste aanpassingen in beeld en audiomontage hebben plaatsgevonden. Het beeld zit nu op slot, zoals dat heet. Er komen geen nieuwe foto’s meer in. Kleurcorrectie: done. De definitieve creditlijst wordt samengesteld. (Niemand vergeten.) Kortom, de film is af en klaar om getoond te worden.
Akbar Simonse aka Pictureman heeft ‘m inmiddels gezien en ‘goedgekeurd.’
Na drie jaar lijkt dit project voltooid, of begint het nu pas?
